About NdiriANI

Founded in 2024, NdiriANI is an emerging social work and child rights advocacy service based in the Netherlands and Zimbabwe.

Our mission is to support, equip, and challenge duty bearers to prioritize children’s rights in their decision-making and service provision. We believe that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and valued as a human rights holder.

Our diverse team brings together expertise from various fields, including social work, law, economics, psychology, education, health and politics. This multidisciplinary approach enables us to tackle complex issues from multiple angles, providing comprehensive and effective solutions.

We are committed to helping communities, organizations and governments translate intricate human rights, social, economic, and political challenges into concrete actions that benefit children.

Expert technical support to give practical meaning to human rights in children’s lives whilst leaving no child behind.

NdiriANI is a play on Shona words ‘ndiri ani?’ meaning ‘who am I?’

We believe this is a hypothetical question from children and young people that every parent, child carer, community leader, service provider, business and government, should be constantly asking themselves when making decisions and policies or providing services and products that impact children’s lives. Who and where is the child in all this?

We therefore envision a world where decision makers are informed, empowered and challenged to actively put children’s rights at the heart of decision making on issues that affect children’s lives.

We champion the role of Social Work in realising children’s rights and sustainable development goals. We look to social work practice that truly recognises children as human rights holders.

Inspired by the African spirit of Ubuntu ‘I am because you are’, NdiriANI has a vision of innovative social work approaches driven by the power of collaboration, championing local knowledge and expertise, empowering underrepresented voices, children’s voices and those with lived experience alongside professional experts.

NdiriANI is for everyone who wants to give children the best start in life and successful transition to adulthood.

NdiriANI aims to help translate children’s rights into practical services that have lasting positive impact on children’s wellbeing and their life outcomes. We aim to bridge the gap between human rights on paper and actual children’s lives using social work interventions to inform, equip and challenge decision makers, professionals and duty bearers to put children’s rights at the heart of decision making.

Our Approach

At NdiriANI, we see children’s rights and wellbeing as everybody’s business.

 Our process involves:

  1. Relationship: We value relationships and take time to know our clients and partners, their needs and ambitions to find alignment and synergy with NdiriANI.
  2. Needs Assessment: Together we seek to understand what is required, existing strengths, gaps and opportunities for enhancing children’s rights.
  3. Strategy Development: We craft tailored strategies that are both practical, creative and rooted to the specific context to allow for sustainable impact.
  4. Implementation Support: We provide hands-on technical support and guidance during implementation to ensure effective execution.
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation: We continuously monitor and evaluate the impact of our interventions to ensure they achieve the desired outcomes and do no harm.
